An Elmira City Court judge is resigning amidst allegations against him. Thomas Ramich resigned, citing personal issues, but according to the state of New York Commission on Judicial Conduct, a written complaint was filed against him last year. Ramich was accused of several infractions, including having his part-time court attorney perform legal services and run personal errands. Documents from the commission also allege that he made a sexually graphic and demeaning joke about a co-judge at an awards dinner. Ramich is currently denying all allegations. With his resignation, all proceedings against him will be dropped, and he will not be allowed to run for judge again.
