Buses in the Elmira City School District are in store for some safety upgrades. Wednesday night, the school board will vote on new cameras to replace older models on some of the existing buses. The work is part of the transportation proposition voters passed back in May.
If approved, more than half the fleet will have the new camera system. District leaders say that means a safer environment for the kids. District officials still hope to eventually equip all buses with the newer safety equipment.
