Former Addison village clerk pleads guilty in connection with theft

The former Addison village clerk accused of stealing more than $1 million dollars in funds from the village over a 19-year period has pleaded guilty.

According to WENY-TV, Ursula Stone pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Steuben County Court to one count of corrupting the government in the first degree.

Stone was arrested in November of 2023 on 192 felony counts, including grand larceny, money laundering, falsifying business records and attempted public corruption.

Law enforcement said Stone filed false documents to cover up stealing more than $1.1 million dollars in funds between January of 2004 and April of 2023.

Stone resigned as village clerk in March of 2023. She will be sentenced on August 1st.
