Part of the Town of Chemung was under evacuation orders on Tuesday due to a gas leak that occurred at around 11 a.m.
The leak was caused by a drilling company striking a gas line.
Nearby homes and businesses were evacuated. Residents and employees were offered shelter at the Chemung Fire Department.
County Route 60 was back open and all evacuation orders were lifted by 2:40 p.m.
The leak is currently under investigation.
