Healthcare workers union approves contract with Guthrie Corning

Members of a healthcare workers union voted to ratify a new three-year contract with Guthrie Corning Hospital on Tuesday.

The two sides came to the agreement last Thursday, just hours before the previous contract was set to expire.

Over 450 workers are represented by the 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East Union.

Caregivers at Guthrie Corning will receive competitive pay increases totaling 8.5 percent over the next three years. They will also have the option to enroll in Guthrie’s Network Advantage Plan.

According to WENY-TV, Guthrie Corning also agreed to increase charge pay, night shift differentials and to improve float pay.
