A healthcare workers union and Guthrie Corning Hospital have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract.
According to WENY-TV, the deal was reached on Wednesday night, just two hours before the previous agreement was set to expire.
The 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East Union represents over 450 nurses, maintenance workers, technicians, and other employees at the local hospital.
The hospital workers were asking for improved staffing, better health insurance and wages. The details of the new deal have not been released.
Union members will vote to ratify the new contract on Tuesday.
