The Elmira Police Department is conducting an investigation after human remains were found in an unmarked grave at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday.
Cemetery staff called police after making the discovery at around 4 p.m.
According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed the remains were from an isolated incident from years ago.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further information was released.
