The Elmira-Corning Regional Airport will be getting a large federal grant for runway improvements.
According to Congressman Nick Langworthy’s Office, the regional airport will be getting just under $950,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program.
The grant will fund the first phase of a project aimed at improving the airport’s runway and taxiway.
Eight thousand feet of the runway and 570 feet of taxiway A will be involved in the project.
