The LECOM Event Center in Elmira is projecting a nearly half million dollar loss in 2024.
According to WETM-TV, the arena lost over $446,000 from January to October of this year.
A pair of recent events, The Price is Right and Disney Junior, generated a combined loss of nearly $35,000.
The Chemung County IDA took over management of the former First Arena in the summer of 2023. The IDA spent more than $600,000 in repairs, capital improvements and operating expenses at the arena.
The Elmira Aviators, the newest hockey team to call the arena home, is currently averaging 648 fans or 17 percent of the venue’s capacity.
The LECOM Event Center will host country star Scotty McCreery on Feb. 16 to kick off their 2025 concert series. Tickets go on sale on Friday at lecomeventcenter.com.
