A local contractor has been charged after he allegedly took money from a customer and did not finish the job.

25-year-old Shane Adams is facing a felony grand larceny charge for the incident in the Town of Southport.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, a homeowner in Southport signed a contract with S&W Exterior LLC to have work done on the outside of his home. The customer paid Adams $10,500 for the work, but the job was not completed.

Four months after the completion date outlined in the contract, a lien letter was sent to Adams, demanding the money be returned, but it was not.

Adams was arraigned in the Southport Town Court and released.
