A man was acquitted on all charges in connection with the shooting death of Jeremy Shazer in January of 2023.

According to the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office, Tasheam Jackson was found not guilty on Monday after the jury found insufficient evidence of his involvement in the murder.

Shazer was shot in his car in the parking lot of a bar in Elmira. He later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Prosecutors told the jury that Jackson was in the back seat of the car during the incident. He was arrested in Florida in March of 2023 and charged with murder in the second degree at that time, along with three other suspects.

Shamel Swan was sentenced for the murder of Shazer in April. He is currently serving 25 years to life in prison.
