A 41-year-old man was killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Steuben County on Friday.
According to the New York State Police, 45-year-old Addison resident Ryan Chase entered a home on Academy Street in Addison at around 7 am on Friday and became involved in a dispute with a 43-year-old woman and Tomas Venegas.
Chase reportedly left the home and returned a short time later and allegedly shot and killed Venegas.
The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle, which he later crashed. Chase was then found deceased in a nearby wooded area with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The female victim was not injured during the incident.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and Addison Police Department assisted the state police at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
