One person was killed in a car accident in Chemung County on Monday afternoon.
According to the New York State Police, 76-year-old Floyd Werner of Gaines, Pennsylvania was driving his truck south on Backer Road in the Town of Catlin at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday when he left the roadway and went into a ditch. The vehicle flipped and ejected the victim.
Werner was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Tompkins Corners Fire Department, Erway Ambulance and New York State Police responded to the incident.
