A repeat sex offender from Elmira has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for having hundreds of files of child sex abuse materials.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 62-year-old Donald Campbell, Sr. was convicted of possession of child pornography.
Campbell used the internet to download and distribute illicit pictures and videos between July of 2022 and January of 2023.
At the time of the crimes, Campbell was already a registered level-three sex offender, which is the highest risk level in New York due to two prior felony child porn convictions from 2004 and 2019.
The most recent case was investigated by the FBI Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force.
