Several people were rescued from a burning apartment building in Corning on Monday morning.
According to WENY-TV, firefighters responded to a building on Chestnut Street at around 11:45 a.m. for a reported fire with people possibly trapped in an upstairs apartment.
Eyewitnesses reported that a small child jumped from a second story window to first responders below. Firefighters also removed three toddlers and a woman from a second story apartment using a ladder.
Two firefighters sustained minor injuries during the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
