Suspect accused of injuring Chemung County Sheriff’s investigator pleads guilty

One of the suspects who is accused of injuring a Chemung County Sheriff’s Investigator last March has pleaded guilty.

According to WENY-TV, Dominick Haley pleaded guilty to assault of a police officer, assault in the second degree and petit larceny.

Police say Haley allegedly tried to steal $300 worth of items from Target in Big Flats and was being chased by the sheriff’s investigator. Both men jumped onto the hood of the car with the other suspect, Fatiuana Massaline, inside. She allegedly accelerated, throwing them both to the ground.

The sheriff’s investigator suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Haley was not seriously injured in the incident.

Massaline has pleaded not guilty to the charges. She is scheduled to go to trial in Chemung County Court on Monday, March 10.

Haley is scheduled to be sentenced on April 14.
