The two people who are accused of injuring Chemung County Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Theetge back in March were in court on Monday.

According to WENY-TV, Dominick Haley and Fatiuana Massaline were in Chemung County Court to continue plea negotiations with the district attorney’s office.

The two suspects face several charges, including assault on a police officer stemming from an incident on March 29th. Theetge was injured as he chased Haley who had allegedly stolen items from the Target in Big Flats and both ended up on the hood of the alleged getaway car driven by Massaline.

According to police, Massaline accelerated and threw both Theetge and Haley to the ground. Theetge suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed from the incident.

Massaline’s attorney requested an adjournment to consider the district attorney’s plea offer. Both suspects will be back in court on Sept. 16th.
