The two individuals who were arrested after Chemung County Sheriff’s Investigator Mike Theetge was critically injured in a hit-and-run incident in late March were officially indicted on several felony charges on Monday.
According to WETM-TV, 24-year-old Fatiuana Massaline and 24-year-old Dominick Haley were back in Chemung County Court on Monday.
Massaline was indicted on one count of assaulting a police officer and one count of assault with a weapon, both felonies.
Haley was indicted on one count of assaulting a police officer and two counts of assault in the second degree as well as three counts of misdemeanor petit larceny for this role in the incident.
Theetge was conducting shoplifting enforcement in Big Flats when he was hit by the vehicle of a suspect he was trying to apprehend.
The investigator was life-flighted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He was transferred to a rehab facility in Rochester last week.
Both suspects pleaded not guilty and are being held at the Chemung County Jail.
