The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Veteran man following an investigation into an explosion that occurred in the Town of Veteran back in March.
According to police, 42-year-old Bryon J. Schwartz has been charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree.
On March 9, members of the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol responded to a reported explosion along with the Town and Country Fire Department. The investigation was turned over to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and a search warrant was obtained. The search resulted in the discovery of an active methamphetamine lab with 6.3 ounces of meth.
As a result of the investigation a Superior Court Warrant was issued and Schwartz was arrested on the charges.
