Authorities were called to the Xtra Mart in Chenango Bridge just before 10 o’clock last night after it was robbed at knife point. It’s at least the third such robbery in the past two weeks, although it wasn’t known late Monday whether the incidents are connected. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says the robber entered the store at 1757 Route 12, and flashed a knife.
He then fled on foot. He’s described as a white male with blonde hair, blue eyes, 5 feet 11 inches tall. No other description was provided. Authorities were using K-9s to search the woods nearby late Monday. Two convenience stores in Johnson City were robbed at knife-point December 5th. Police believe it was the same man that hit Bobbi’s Mini Mart on Harry L. Drive and King’s Deli on Floral Avenue within half an hour. A week later, a man robbed a convenience store in the town of Fenton. The sheriff’s office believed that those robberies were connected.
