Drivers may start to see more police and sheriff deputies on the roads for the next few weeks. Today begins the Buckle Up New York Click It or Ticket campaign. The program will run until June 5th and there will be a high visibility enforcement used to ensure motorists are buckling up. This enforcement is is based on research that showed that most people who don’t wear seat belts, especially younger people the possibility of receiving a ticket is a more credible incentive than the threat of injury or death.
