Recently elected Republican Congressman Richard Hanna is recovering from heart surgery.
He had surgery Monday on his mitral valve.
Hanna will remain out of work until his doctors clear him.
His spokesperson would not release any further details at the request of his family.
New York’s 24th Congressional District comprises all or part of 11-counties in Central New York including Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Oneida, Ontario, Otsego, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins counties
