A Sayre man who was convicted of killing his passenger in a crash while driving drunk five years ago has been arrested again for DWI.
25-year-old Trevor Bennett was taken into custody by Sayre Police this week after they say he was driving 60 miles per hour down Keystone Ave., 25 miles per hour faster than the posted limit of 35.
He is facing a DUI charge and a number of traffic violations.
In 2005, Bennett was driving a car that struck a tree in Athens after a New Years Eve party. His passenger, 18-year-old Duane Struppler, was killed instantly. Police say Bennett had a blood alcohol content of 0.41 that night.
He pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter and served nine months in jail.
Bennett remains in the Bradford County Jail after this week’s arrest. He will be back in court next month.
