(Binghamton, NY) – In Broome County Court, Mitchell A. McComas, of Binghamton, has been sentenced to up to three years in a New York State prison after pleading guilty to 3rd Degree Felony Attempted Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

According to a news release to MyHometownToday.com from Broome County District Attorney Michael A. Korchak, McComas admitted that on January 31, 2022, he drove a 2020 Ford F-150 truck stolen from Hallstead, Pa., to Best Buy on the Vestal Parkway, stole a TV valued over $300.

An investigation led Vestal police to a residence in Binghamton where McComas was arrested. McComas was previously convicted of 4th Degree Grand Larceny in 2018 in Broome County.

“Rather than be a productive citizen, this defendant repeatedly chooses to steal property from others. McComas must now be held accountable for his criminal behavior.” said Michael A. Korchak, Broome County District Attorney.

The case was investigated by the Vestal Police Department with the assistance of the Binghamton Police Department. Senior Assistant District Attorney Nate O’Neil prosecuted the case for the District Attorney’s Office.
