The Village of Endicott will receive some help from the state to pay for an upgrade to their water system. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced $13.7 million in grants yesterday to support eight water infrastructure projects across the Southern Tier, including in Endicott. The village will receive an $875,000 grant and a low interest loan to cover the rest of the $3.5 million project to improve their drinking water. A total of $14.2 million in interest-free and low-interest loans will be provided with the grants. The monetary awards are part of the state’s Water Infrastructure Improvement Act. The rest of the awards announced yesterday went to Arkport, Delhi, Dix, Guilford, Hornell, Sidney, and Stamford.
