One person was killed in a fire in Elmira Wednesday night.
The Fire Department has not identified the victim of the fire on Irvine Place, which was reported around 10pm. The narrow street is near Elmira College.
Firefighters say two people and a dog were able to safely escape the burning two-story building. They say entry into the home was hampered by a large amount of items near the doorway. The victim was found after the fire was extinguished.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
