A fire in East Smithfield has left over 100 animals dead. A barn caught on fire early Saturday morning, killing 60 pigs, 24 calves, 11 cows, 5 rabbits, 4 chickens, a goat, and dog. The barn housed a pig-breeding operation, was a common meeting place for 4-H, and was often toured by kindergarten classes. Some of the pigs were supposed to be shown at both the Tioga and Bradford County Fairs this summer. The owners of the barn say that they plan to rebuild.
