Five Canton residents are facing charges related to a burglary that took place earlier in the month. 19-year-old Darren Killian is accused of kicking open the door of an apartment in Canton, getting on top of the resident of the apartment, and attacking him by punching him in the face. He’s now facing a felony burglary charge along with disorderly conduct. 22-year-old Michael Campbell is also facing charges after police say he assisted in tackling the victim and holding him down while Killian attacked him. Campbell is facing felony burglary and criminal trespass charges. Two others, 19-year-old Dakota Bailey and 18-year-old Killian Frey, have also been charged with felony conspiracy to commit burglary and felony conspiracy to commit criminal trespass. Those charges come after a Troy police officer spotted Bailey nearby, and read text messages on his phone that revealed Bailey was involved in the plan to attack the victim. A fifth person, 24-year-old Lacey Benson, was charged after she attempted to conceal Frey from police in her apartment. All five were taken to jail where Benson, Frey, Bailey, and Campbell’s bail was set at $65,000, with Killian’s at $55,000. They each face preliminary hearings on May 21st.
