Police are still looking for the man involved in a hit-and-run with the Ithaca chief of police. According to Ithaca Police, 23-year-old Christopher Rundt, of Ithaca, should be considered armed and dangerous. Back on June 12th, Rundt’s vehicle struck an unmarked SUV driven by Police Chief John Barber on West Clinton Street, and after Rundt exited his vehicle and apologized to Barber, he fled on foot. Also fleeing with Rundt was a female passenger, believed to be Ashley Woodward. Witnesses claimed that Rundt appeared to be intoxicated. Barber was treated for minor injuries. Police believe that since that time Rundt has been involved in two separate incidents, one in Trumansburg and the other in Manchester in Ontario County. Those incidents involve Rundt having a stolen vehicle and a .357-caliber handgun. Anyone with information on Rundt’s whereabouts should contact Ithaca Police at 272-3245.
