A homicide investigation is under way in Elmira. Police were called to the area of South Main Street and West Chemung Place just before 4 o’clock Saturday morning after a man was reported injured and on the ground. The man, whose name has not been released, had reportedly been stabbed. He was taken to an area hospital before succumbing to his injuries. Police remained on the scene throughout the day Saturday. The investigation is currently following up on leads, and anyone with any information is urged to contact the Elmira Police Department at 607-737-5626.
