A Delaware County jury found Glenford Hull guilty of manslaughter on Saturday after 25 hours of deliberations.
The jury acquitted the man on murder charges.
Hull was on trial a second time for shooting and killing his neighbor, 23-year-old Chance Caffery, in 2006.
He was convicted of murder and serving a prison sentence when a state Supreme Court Judge overturned the verdict earlier this year, saying Hull had received ineffective counsel.
A new trial was ordered, which began a few weeks ago. Hull will be sentenced in December.
