An informational meeting will be held Tuesday night in Endicott to discuss the clean up of a contaminated site in the village.
The state’s Dept. of Environmental Conservation says 312 Maple Street is contaminated with trichloroethylene, or TCE, after the site was once used for electronics manufacturing. They want to use a process called bioremediation to eliminate the pollution, a tactic that introduces microorganisms into the ground water that target the TCE.
The DEC would like to hear what the public thinks of their plan. Their informational meeting will run from 6:30 to 7:30pm at the Broome County Library.
The DEC will also accept comments in writing or via email through the end of the year.
