The investigation continues into the fire that killed a person in Elmira on Wednesday.
The victim, who has still not been identified, was found dead after a fire at a two-story home on Irvine Place, near Elmira College.
Flames were reported at the building around 10pm Wednesday. Two other occupants of the home were able to safely escape with a small dog.
Firefighters say their entry into the burning home was impeded by a large amount of items near the doorway. The victim was found after the fire was extinguished.
The home suffered fire, smoke and water damage, but officials say it can be repaired. They are still looking for the cause of the fire.
