Ithaca Teacher’s Union Head Arrested For Grand Larceny

The Ithaca Police Department arrested the President of the Ithaca City School District’s teacher’s union for grand larceny. Police first received a complaint in the middle of January that Laureen Hamilton had stolen money from the union. After an investigation, Hamilton admitted to making numerous unauthorized transactions, totaling approximately $7,000. She was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a Class D felony. She was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and released on her own recognizance.
