Johnson City has once again decided to table a resolution to merge its code office with the Town of Union.
While discussing the issue at a meeting Tuesday night, trustees said there is not enough information to make an informed decision. They hope to work with the town to come up with a plan as to how a new, consolidated office would operate.
Tuesday’s board meeting also brought some changes to the rules and regulations for the Johnson City Fire Department.
Mayor Dennis Hannon says they have not been updated since 1996. Several changes were made, from deleting references to positions no longer in service to more complex issues like discipline.
The changes are effective immediately. Hannon says more may be on the way.
