Village police are conducting a criminal investigation into the reported sabotage of air packs used by senior officers in the Johnson City Fire Department.
Mayor Dennis Hannon says that between March and June three supervisory officers within the Johnson City Fire Department reported that their air packs had been tampered with “in a matter that would cause them to leak.” Air packs are the air tanks firefighters use when fighting a fire.
Hannon declined to discuss the details of the tampering, but did say there is an ongoing internal criminal investigation into who could be responsible.
