Judicial misconduct charges filed against district judge

The State of Pennsylvania’s Judicial Misconduct Board has issued a total of seven judicial misconduct charges against Bradford County District Judge Michael Shaw. Shaw has been a district judge in the Valley area for 22 years, and is currently serving in his 6th term which is set to expire on December 31st of 2017. Judge Shaw is accused of having an extra-marital affair with the girlfriend of a defendant in a case two years ago. Shaw is also accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a county court probation officer, circumventing policies, and more. The seven charges against Judge Shaw were recently made public in a 42-page complaint released out of the State Judicial Conduct Board yesterday. Shaw’s Attorney now has 15 days to file an entry of appearance.
