Man Arrested for Terroristic Threats Toward Athens Area School

A man from Sayre has been arrested for making terroristic threats in a voicemail to the Athens Area High School. 50-year-old Daniel Borchardt is said to have left a voicemail on the Athens High School phone system on Sunday, January 24th. In the voicemail, Borchardt allegedly stated that he was going to bring a gun to the school, and quote “Shoot everybody.” School administrators heard the message after returning to work on Monday. They contacted authorities immediately.

 

The Bradford County Emergency Operations department contacted Verizon for caller information. Their investigation led them to bring Borchardt in for questioning, where he admitted to making the call. Borchardt has since been arraigned and sent to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $65,000 bail.
