On Thursday June 2nd, The New York State Police arrested Derek Coviello, 38, of Greene, N.Y. on felony Assault and Criminal Mischief, as well as Criminal Possession of Weapon and Resisting Arrest.
The charges are a result of an incident on Friday, May 20th in the Village of Greene, when the defendant assaulted a New York State Trooper with two bricks.
Trooper Christopher Marinelli suffered a head injury as a result of the assault, was treated at Binghamton General Hospital, and released.
On June 2nd, Coviello was arraigned before Chenango County Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail pending further court action.
