New York State Troopers responded to a reported domestic incident on New Year’s Day at 122 Washington Avenue, in the Village of Endicott. Upon arrival, Troopers located Michael Mezzarone, age 38, suffering from a stab wound to his back and his wife Theresa Mezzarone, age 41, suffering from a minor injury to her hand. The investigation revealed that the two had had a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical altercation with the woman scratching the man’s face and the man subsequently biting the woman’s finger. She then stabbed him in the back with a knife. The woman then left her residence to seek medical attention in a nearby residence, while the male was transported to Wilson Hospital where he was treated and released. Theresa Mezzarone was arrested for Assault 2nd degree, a Class “D” Felony and Michael Mezzarone was arrested for Assault 3rd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor. Both subjects were arraigned before a Village of Endicott Judge and remanded to the Broome County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
