(Owego, NY) – On Oct. 6, the Village of Owego Police Department, along with its Benevolent Association, area first responders, and Village Officials will host the 3rd Annual Village Appreciation Night, this year featuring a bonfire, wagon rides, and live music featuring Devon & The In-Laws and special guests.
Owego Police Chief Joseph Kennedy, along with area volunteers, is in the planning stages of the event, which will run from 5-10 p.m. at the Tioga County Fairgrounds in Owego.
“The event offers a way to reach out to the community and to connect; it is also a way to show appreciation to our area’s first responders,” said Chief Kennedy, adding, “This type of thing is exactly what our community needs right now.”
Local first responders will be on-hand during the event to provide information about their services.
The organizers will be meeting soon to bring all of their plans together, and more will be forthcoming. In the meantime, if you would like to sponsor or become involved in this free community event, call Chief Kennedy at (607) 687-2234, ext. 2603, or email to [email protected].
