The Vestal Police Department has been responding to multiple reports of daytime burglaries and attempted daytime burglaries in and around Vestal Center. So far, homes on Tracy Creek, Castleman, and West Hill Roads have been targeted. The Vestal Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying any suspicious behavior. Vestal Police Sergeant Christopher Streno says that with daytime burglaries, the burglar will usually knock on the door a home to see if anyone is there. If someone answers, the would-be burglar will then make up a story as to why they are there, or state that they have the wrong house and move on. If you see such behavior, you can report it to the Vestal Police Department at (607) 754-2477, Extension 347.
