New Year’s Day Shooting Leaves One in Critical Condition

One man is in critical condition and another behind bars following an early morning shooting on New Year’s Day. 25-year-old Christopher Wright is said to have shot a male victim at around 5:45AM at the Chestnut Hill Apartment complex in the City of Ithaca. When authorities arrived, Wright could not be located. As a result, the Ithaca Police Department broadcasted Wright’s description to other law enforcement agencies. This information led to his arrest by New York State Police on the thruway just outside of New York City. Wright was transported back to Ithaca where he was arraigned and sent to the county jail without bail.
