A local high school is among the first to be granted permission to perform a legendary Broadway musical.
Norwich High School is only the 2nd school in the state, and the 68th in the world to perform the full Broadway Production of “The Phantom of the Opera”. The school learned last June that the rights to the play would be released for high school performances. The cast and crew have spent hundreds of hours crafting elaborate props and costumes. The cast says the music has been the most challenging part of the show so far. It begins Friday night at 7:30 in the Norwich High School Auditorium. You can also catch the musical on Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the door for five dollars.
