A reminder that there are numerous events happening in and around Owego today.
Calling hours for former Owego Fire Chief and youth sports coach Tom Taft are being held today from 4-7pm at Esty, Munroe, and Fahey Funeral Home on Park Street in Owego. Tom Taft served the Owego Fire Department and Squad for over 20 years, was an emergency responder to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and a Marine Corps veteran. He also coached numerous youth sports leagues over the years.
Following today’s calling hours, a funeral service for Tom Taft will be held tomorrow at 10am at First Baptist Church on Main Street in Owego. A burial service at Evergreen cemetery will follow immediately after.

The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Business Show today at the Owego Treadway Banquet and Conference Center. There will be raffles, samples, and live entertainment. More than 100 businesses are expected to be at today’s show, including News Radio WEBO. The event runs from 9:30am until 3pm. The general public is welcome. Tickets can be purchased for $2 at the door.

A Doug’s Fish Fry fundraiser is being held today from11am-6pm at the Tops Plaza on 5th Avenue in Owego. The fundraiser is being held to benefit OFA’s post prom party. The party allows for a safe, alcohol-free option to students looking to continue partying into the night after Owego Free Academy’s Prom.
