A New York City man has been found guilty of murder and assault in Elmira.
34-year-old William Jordan was convicted of stabbing another man with an ice pick in January outside an Elmira bar.
Robert Pritchett was the man who was killed. An autopsy showed that he died from wounds to his head and back.
Jordan testified that he and Pritchett got into a fight over a drug deal and he was just reacting in self-defense. No markings were found on Pritchett’s hands. The murdered man’s family believes Jordan attacked him out of jealousy, because Pritchett was dating his ex-girlfriend.
Jordan will be sentenced in December.
