Governor Cuomo announced on Tuesday that $5 million dollars will be redirected to the “Open for Business” marketing campaign to upgrade New York State welcome centers. The “Open for Business” campaign, which includes both the “I love New York,” and ” Start-Up New York,” programs, will now be allocated $55 million dollars in 2017. With the added $5 million, upgrades are planned for state visitor centers in Kirkwood, Geneva, and in Stormville. The effectiveness of the Open for Business marketing campaign has already been questioned by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
