New York State Police are calling their recent “Buckle Up New York” Campaign a success.
Troop “C” Commander Major Kevin Molinari says the campaign was important as a reminder to the public is to use their seat belts.
Across Troop C, which includes Broome and Tioga counties, troopers arrested over 1,600 people for failure to use a seat belt in the last two weeks.
Seat belt checks were set-up across the Southern Tier and law enforcement agencies paid special attention to the use of seat belts in passing vehicles as part of the effort.
