Two local state police investigators have received a national award.
Investigators William Dengler and Tracy Stamp were named Investigators of the Year by the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation. The two were credited with solving hundreds of burglaries involving millions of dollars across New York State and Pennsylvania during a 10-month investigation last year.
The two downplay their achievements, saying they are proud of the award but it is back to work on their next case.
Investigators Dengler and Stamp are assigned to Troop C, which includes Broome and Tioga counties.
