Three Owego-Apalachin Students will be heading to Minnesota in March to perform in the All-National choral concert. Rachel Raftis, a freshman at OFA, has been named to the All-National Junior High Chorus. She performed in Regionals last year.
“Last year, it was the coolest thing I’ve ever done, and that was just Regionals. So this year, going to Nationals, it’s gonna be even cooler. It’s gonna be amazing seeing how many people have such a joy and passion for music,” said Raftis.
OFA Junior Nicolas Hulbert says that he’s is eager to work with Grammy-winning composer Eric Whitacre who is scheduled to conduct this year’s All-National concert.
Out of over 4,200 applicants, only 270 students were chosen for the All-National choir this year. In addition to Rachel Raftis and Nicolas Hulbert, Owego-Apalachin 8th grader Justin Browne has also been chosen to perform in the All-National Choral Concert this year as well.
